General Meeting 19 Jun 2009

Last evening was the 3rd CAV YPres General Meeting. We had an excellent turn out from our members. During the meeting Klaus thank all who rode in the Ride for Dad and the URSA volunteers (job well done to all).

At that time Bruce (SAA) spoke about the upcoming ride to Toad Rock and give some of the final details on the departure time and the route.

Rob (Road Captain) presented the Winglet to 2 of our members and Klaus use the occation to present 2 of our members with their CAV Patch. (well done gentlements). A 50/50 draw was done and after we all gathered around for a quick social.

Breakfast in the Trenches-Bike entries from 3CAV

Congratulation to those who took parts in the "Breakfast in the Trenches - Show and Shine" bike show.

Fuzzy's custom bike won top award for the bikes.

Ride for Dad 6 Jun 2009

T and Al left Suffield on Friday with $1500 dollars in pledges that were raised by Ken Lockie, T and Al.

Due to the weather, the turnout was not what was expected but there were 5 CAV crests in the Parade, 2 from Ypres, 1 from Kosovo and 2 from Coriano Ridge. Although they had to postpone the Poker Run due to Ice and snow on the bridges in the foothills it was still a good day.

Thanks to all for the support in making the URSA ride a great success, nothing but compliments on the professionalism and effort by all.
As a Reminder the Ride for Dad is coming up on the 6th June 2009.

CPL Mike Starker Memorial Poker Run

The Veterans of Canada MC hosted CPL Mike Starker Memorial Poker Run on Sunday 24th May 2009. This event was a Success and job well done by The Veterans of Canada MC.

Bruce Nickles (SSA of the YPres Unit) presented a plaque to VCMC and Cpl Starker's widow. This plaque was made by a member of the CAV.
